Collaboration with SOLS Foundation reflects sustainability commitment to community empowerment
Petaling Jaya, 15 August 2025 – Paramount Corporation Berhad (Paramount) has partnered with SOLS Foundation, a non-profit focused on education and community empowerment, to bring solar power and financial literacy to the Orang Asli community in Kampung Bukit Tunggul, Sepang. This initiative reflects Paramount’s sustainability commitment to creating social value through wellness, education, and environmental stewardship.
A team of 30 Paramount volunteers installed solar panels on 21 homes, providing reliable lighting for 62 residents. The effort was complemented by a financial literacy workshop facilitated together with SOLS Foundation to equip villagers with essential life skills.
SOLS Foundation’s Founder and CEO, Danutcha Catriona Singh said, “Access to energy is more than just lights and fans. It is about dignity, opportunity, and progress. By working with Paramount to electrify Kampung Bukit Tunggul, we are powering up lives, enabling learning after dark, improving safety, and laying the foundation for a stronger, self-reliant Orang Asli community. This is what people-focused sustainability looks like.”
Paramount’s Deputy Group CEO and Designated Sustainability Officer, Benjamin Teo said, “This collaboration reinforces our commitment to uplifting local communities. By addressing vital needs — from enabling children to study after dark to boosting daily productivity — we’re also supporting long-term community resilience and cleaner energy solutions.”He added, “What make this project truly meaningful is the heart behind it — that we are not just delivering infrastructure, but hope, opportunity, and a better future. This is Paramount’s vision in action as we continue ‘Changing Lives and Enriching Communities for a Better World’.”
